Volunteer @ Your Library
Do you love books? Do you use
the library often? Do you like helping the community? Do you
have extra time on your hands?
If you’ve answered yes to any
of these questions, then the Autauga Prattville Public Libraries
could use your help.
Volunteers
must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
Things we need
help with:
The Circulation
Department needs help with sorting and shelving books as well as
assisting with the overdue notices each week. Volunteers will help with
returning fiction books to shelves in alphabetical order and non fiction
books using the Dewey Decimal system.
The Children's
Department needs help with sorting and shelving books. Assist the
children's librarian with special projects such as preparing the AR
lists and books. We also will need help with the Summer Reading Program
with activities for children at different branches. Tasks may include
recording of books the children have read, distribution of prizes and
assisting with the celebration parties held at the beginning and ending
of the Program.
The Catalog
Department needs help with sorting through donations, preparing new
books for the shelves and discarding of old materials.
If you are interested in becoming a
volunteer, please fill out the
volunteer form and submit it to
the library. The director will be in touch with you within a couple of
days.
